Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Woodworking DIY (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit woodworkingdiy.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you provide. If you contact us by email or submit a form, we collect the information you choose to share, such as your name and email address.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, respond to your inquiries, understand how visitors use our content, and, if we introduce advertising in the future, serve relevant ads. We do not sell your personal information.

Email newsletter and marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter or sign up to download a free resource, we collect the details you provide, such as your email address and, if you share it, your name. Providing this information is voluntary, and you sign up only if you choose to.

We use Mautic, an email marketing and automation platform that we host ourselves on a subdomain of this Site, to store this information, manage our subscriber list, and send you emails. Because Mautic is self-hosted, your subscriber information is kept on our own infrastructure rather than shared with a third-party marketing service. We use Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) to deliver our emails, and Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) to process bounce and complaint notifications so that we can automatically stop emailing addresses that bounce or report our messages. We use your email address to deliver any resource you requested and to send occasional newsletters, updates, tips, and product recommendations that may include affiliate links. Mautic may also record whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, which page of the Site you were reading when you subscribed, and whether you downloaded a resource we sent you. It may set cookies to recognize returning subscribers and understand which content interests you, so we can make our emails more relevant. You can read more about these cookies in our Cookie Policy.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email we send, and you can ask us to update or delete your subscriber information by contacting us at admin@woodworkingdiy.com. We do not sell your email address or subscriber information to anyone.

Purchases and payments

We sell digital products, such as downloadable pattern packs, through Stripe. When you buy something, checkout takes place on a page hosted by Stripe rather than on this Site.

We use Stripe Managed Payments, which means Stripe acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Stripe is the seller shown on your card statement, and Stripe determines, collects and remits any applicable sales tax, VAT or GST. Stripe collects the information needed to process your payment, including your email address, billing details, card or other payment details, and location information used to work out the correct tax. That information is handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy, which you can read at stripe.com/privacy.

We never see or store your card number or other payment credentials. What we receive from Stripe is a record of the purchase: the product bought, the amount, the date, and the email address used at checkout.

We use that email address to deliver your download, to contact you about your order if something goes wrong, and to mark you in our records as someone who has purchased, so that we do not keep sending you offers for something you already own. If the email address you pay with matches an address already on our newsletter list, the two records are linked.

Buying a product does not by itself subscribe you to our newsletter. If you want our emails, you can sign up separately.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies to improve your browsing experience, analyze traffic, and support affiliate tracking. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. For full detail, see our Cookie Policy.

Third-party services

We use third-party services that may collect information about you, including:

  • Analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which help us understand how visitors interact with the Site.
  • Affiliate networks, which use cookies to track referrals from our links so that any commission is correctly attributed.
  • Stripe, which processes payments and acts as merchant of record for our digital products, as described above.
  • Advertising partners. We do not currently display third-party ads. If we introduce advertising in the future, our partners may use cookies to show relevant ads, and we will update this policy to reflect that.

These third parties operate under their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@woodworkingdiy.com. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data in line with applicable data protection law. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under California privacy law.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Please check back periodically to stay informed.
